Overview

John Loving brings over twenty years of political and lobbying experience to Kilpatrick Townsend. He has served in his current capacity at the firm for over ten years.

John’s experience provides him with the skills to assist his clients with addressing a wide range of issues, including: Tribal and Native American issues, health care, appropriations and federal funding, trade, tax, intellectual property, entertainment, media, and new media matters.

Before joining the firm, he spent four years as Manager and Director of Government Relations for the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (now the Sports Fitness Industry Association), where he served as a liaison between the Association and congressional leaders. His work included promoting health, wellness and fitness programs as well as tariff and trade issues.

Before working with SGMA, John worked on Capitol Hill in the office of Senator Robert F. Bennett (R-UT) where his primary focus was on health care issues. He also served a short stint in the office of then Congressman Jim Gibbons (R-NV).

John is an active participant in Republican politics and has worked with, and advised multiple political campaigns.

Experience Highlights

Has represented clients on matters in front of Congress, the Department of Interior and Bureau of Indian Affairs, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services., the U. S Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Education.

Successfully implemented numerous strategies with clients to obtain federal funding through Congress as well as federal Departments and Agencies.

While at SGMA, secured more than $250 million in funding from Congress for SGMA's signature legislative program, the Physical Education for Progress program (PEP).
